Bournemouth FC of England midfielder, Nnamdi Ofoborh has described his nine-minute cameo appearance for the Flying Eagles in their 4-0 thrashing of Qatar as a dream come true, AOIFootball.com reports.
Speaking to AOIFootball.com ahead of the team’s second group game on Monday night, the 19-year-old stated that the moment will remain a special one for him going forward.
“It was a dream come true to play in a world cup. This is my first major tournament and coming on in the closing stages of the match against Qatar felt so different compared to the normal game in England. It was a lot more special.
“The team generally did well and we got the job done and it was a really big win to start off the tournament,” Nnamdi concluded.
One of several new additions to the squad that finished fourth at the African Youth Championship in Niger, Ofobohr came in for fellow UK-based midfielder Dele-Bashiru with nine minutes of regulation time left as the Flying Eagles took supremacy of Group D with a 4-0 convincing win over Qatar on matchday 1.
