Former Super Eagles left-back Elderson Echiejile scored his second goal of the season for HJK Helsinki as they defeated KPV Kokkola 3-1 at the Telia 5G- Arena in Helsinki, AOIFootball.con reports.

Having missed his side’s last two league games through suspension, the former AS Monaco left-back started just his 5th game of the campaign and duly opened scoring 19 minutes into the clash when he converted an assist from Kaan Kairinen to put the host 1-0 up.

Riku Riski then doubled their lead four minutes later before Hendrik Helmke made it 2-1 fourteen minutes from time to set up a nervy finish to the clash.

Brazilian midfielder Rafinha however quashed any hope of a comeback as he made it 3-1 ten minutes from time to send them 4th on the log with 15 points, just two points adrift leaders Inter Turku which has played two games less.

“It was nice to be on the scoresheet and great three points for the team,” Echiejile posted afterward.
