*Makanjuola, Ogbu may replace injured players

Flying Eagles Head Coach, Paul Aigbogun has been advised to look beyond his starting XI and twerk his formation in order to secure qualification against a very organized Ukrainian side, reports.

Having incurred the anger of football-loving Nigerians after the team’s abysmal 2-0 loss to the USA on Monday night, the team stayed put in Bielsko Biala where they will face Ukraine on  Thursday tonight for a place in the next round of the competition.

With first-choice defender Valentine Ozorwanfor already confirmed to miss the game, the former Enyimba coach must now look at his bench for reinforcement, especially as a lot of football fans are calling for the introduction of pre-tournament hotshot Success Makanjuola to the starting XI.

Clearly not impressed with what he saw on Monday night, former Super Eagles Media Officer, Colin Udoh posited that the Flying Eagles clearly displayed the weakness in Nigerian football but believes they can still get it right against the Europeans.

“I think Okon and Makanjuola should start the next game, along with Tijani.

“Ukraine do not try to exploit space in much the same way as the US, and if they can refrain from trying to run into empty spaces, close the spaces between the lines, improve their timings on first and second balls, not to mention cut out those heavy touches, they should be fine.

“I think they can beat Ukraine. But those shouts of “go! dey go!” when players have the ball should stop. Encourage them to pass instead,” Udoh posited.

Meanwhile, reports reaching from the team’s camp indicates the coach may have heeded to the calls for changes to his starting line up. News has it that Success Makanjuola and Igor Ogbu may start later tonight against Ukraine at the Stadion Miejski, Bielsko-Biala.

With three points from their opening two games,  Nigeria needs to avoid defeat against Ukraine to stand a chance of progressing to the round of 16 stages but could still qualify as best losers should they pick up a draw and USA beat Qatar in the other group match.
