*Expects full house by Thursday
Super Eagles Head Coach Gernot Rohr has expressed confidence in what he saw on the first day of training as his team began preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, AOIFootball.com reports.
The Franco-German, who took charge of both training sessions, further revealed that he hopes to have a full house on Thursday ahead of the friendly against Zimbabwe this weekend.
“This morning (Monday) we continued and also in the afternoon we had a very good training session and tomorrow (Tuesday) we will have another two training sessions.
“The work is hard, the players are not all here because we still have few players that are not arriving yet but on Thursday we should have a much more full house to continue to prepare well,” Rohr said.
With Kenneth Omeruo and Wilfred Ndidi the latest to join the team in Asaba, Rohr now awaits the arrival of Alex Iwobi who played in the Europa League final with Arsenal last Wednesday, whilst Ekong, who had to stay an extra week with his club should also join camp soonest alongside China-based Odion Ighalo.
