Super Eagles and Torino of Italy full-back, Ola Aina remains optimistic of his chances of representing Nigeria at a major competition following his nearly perfect performance last season with Torino in the Italian Serie A, reports.

Speaking after Wednesday’s evening training session, the Chelsea loanee revealed it is not yet a done deal for any player as the competition for places remains very strong.

“I pray I make it to the AFCON because there is still a lot of hard work to be done; obviously the coach will still have to drop two players at the end of the week but hopefully I will make the final cut,” Aina stated.

Having failed to make the Eagles squad to last summer’s World Cup in Russia, the 22-year-old is hopeful of adding to his seven senior caps at the Mundial after making his debut for Nigeria in 2017.
