*Cautions Nigeria should not underrate any team
With less than ten days to the commencement of the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations championship in Egypt, former Nigeria international, Efe Ambrose has charged the Super Eagles to remain focused and dedicated in order to succeed, reports.
Efe, who was part of Nigeria’s 2013 AFCON winning team, warned that Nigeria’s group opponents Burundi and Madagascar who are termed underdogs will be coming into the championship with the aim of carving a niche for themselves, and as such, should not be underrated.
He further stated that if every single game is well approached like a cup final, then success will surely smile on their efforts as the team have the wherewithal to deliver when the tournament begins.
“All the players are in top shape and I believe that the coach has chosen the best legs that will represent us.
“With hard work and dedication, I believe that the players will excel during the tournament. Every team will be coming with the mindset of beating Nigeria and I want to encourage our boys not to underrate them as there’re no smaller teams in African football anymore,” Efe advised.
Efe, who parted ways with his Championship club, Derby County on mutual consent at the end of the season in England, is looking forward to penning a deal with a new club even though he’s yet to reveal where his next possible destination will be.
