Former U-17 World Cup-winning skipper, Kelechi Nwakali ecstatic about returning to training with his parent club Arsenal ahead of the 2019/2020 season, reports.

Nwakali, who was listed by Arsenal among their U-23 players along fellow compatriot Arthur Okonkwo, Tobi Omole, Joseph Olowu, Tolaji Bola, James Olayinka, Bukayo Saka, Xavier Amaechi and Folarin Balogun, told after Wednesday morning session that it has been an interesting atmosphere for him as he hopes to make the best of it.

“It’s been an amazing session since I arrived. I have enjoyed every bit of the training session and I just want to make the best of it.

“Right now nothing is certain but I just want to train hard and prove my potential to the coaches. Hopefully, we will see from there,” Nwakali said.

The former Diamond Football Academy youth prodigy joined the Gunners in the summer of 2016 but has had to spend several loan spells at MVV Maastricht, VVV Venlo and FC Porto due to work permit issues.

Arsenal will take on Boreham Wood in a pre-season friendly at Meadow Park on Saturday, and Nwakali would be eyeing his debut for the North London club.
