Players and officials of the Super Eagles arrived the Egyptian capital Cairo on Monday afternoon in preparation for Wednesday’s quarterfinal clash against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, reports.

The team had been camped in the city of Alexandria for the past three weeks at the Helnan Palestine Hotel whilst holding their training sessions at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.

But Saturday’s victory against defending champions Cameroon, however, earned the team a trip to the capital where they will engage South Africa who eliminated hosts Egypt.

The team will check into their new base before heading for the training pitch where they will do a light workout before holding a full training on Tuesday.

Coach Gernot Rohr would have a fully fit squad to work with after Captain Mikel Obi, who missed the game against Cameroon returned to full training whilst right-back Shehu Abdullahi will also be hoping for a recall to the starting XI.

Nigeria will take on South Africa at the 75,000 –capacity Cairo International Stadium on Wednesday night.
