*Says Eagles will make the country proud

Super Eagles forward, Odion Ighalo has called on football lovers and indeed Nigerians to cheer the team to victory as they continue their quest for a fourth continental crown in Egypt, reports.

The 30-year-old, who silenced critics to fire Nigeria into the last eight of the Africa Cup of Nations, posited that the team is now beaming with confidence following their impressive win against Cameroon last Saturday.

“We need Nigerians to believe in us because their support is very important to what we want to achieve here. We will make them proud tomorrow (Wednesday).

“We have confidence from the last game. We are ready and it’s nice to know the Egyptian fans will be supporting us but we are the main actors. It will be difficult and tough but we are ready,” Ighalo said.

Playing in his first AFCON for Nigeria, the Shanghai Shenhua forward’s three goals and one assist put him joint top scorer in the race for the golden boot of the competition.
