Just days after confirming the permanent capture of Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, Spanish LaLiga club, CD Leganes have announced the arrival of another Eagles defender, Chidozie Awaziem from FC Porto, reports.

The 22-year-old centre-back who surprised many at last month’s AFCON in Egypt after excelling in an unusual right-back position, will join the Cucumber Boys for the upcoming 2019/2020 season and could form an interesting partnership with teammate Kenneth Omeruo.

Having failed to break into Porto’s main squad, the former FC Nantes defender joined Turkish side Caykur Rizespor in the winter transfer market, quickly establishing himself as a regular with the team as he featured in 16 games to help them survive relegation.

His form led to a recall for the AFCON and he also helped the Olympic Eagles to reach the final round of the AFCON qualifiers following their 4-0 thumping of Libya in Asaba.
