Nigerian international, Sylvester Igbohun opened his season account in style for Russian side FK UFA, scoring twice in either half to lift them to a 2-0 victory over visiting FK Rostov, reports.

Having gone the opening five league games without a goal, the 28-year-old was eager to open his goals account as he led the line for the sixth consecutive game.

After a series of sustained pressure, the hosts found the net five minutes to half time when Aleksandr Putsko long range ball made a mess of the visiting defenders with Igbohun reacting quickest to nod past the rushing goalkeeper for 1-0.

The Nigerian was then at it 11 minutes from time as he benefited from a mix up in the Rostov defence before keeping his composure to fire past the helpless Pesyakov who could do nothing to stop the Nigerian from getting his brace.

Igbohun, who was on for 82 minutes, was deservedly named man of the match with a game rating of 8.1 as UFA moved to 10th on the log with 7 points from 6 games
