Super Eagles defender, William Troost- Ekong is envisaging a touch game against Ukraine on Tuesday, whilst urging the young players in the team to step up and lead the country to victory, reports.

The Udinese of Italy centre-back, who is expected to lead the Eagles at the Dnipro Stadium in what will be his 39th senior cap for Nigeria, stated during the prematch conference that the game against the Europeans will be a difficult one for the young players.

“The match is a challenge for us but we are ready. It will be difficult for us, because now there are not many experienced players in our squad. But the young players here are always eager to play for the national team.,” Ekong said.

The match against the world 25th ranked team could see Eagles Head Coach Gernot Rohr hand debuts to the trio of Maduka Okoye, Joe Aribo and Josh Maja with returnee Bryan Idowu also in line to make his first appearance for the country after being snubbed for the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
