Super Eagles defender, Semi Ajayi was the hero for Championship side West Bromwich Albion as he scored his first goal for the club in their 1-1 draw away Fulham, reports.

Fresh from helping Nigeria to a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Ukraine last Tuesday, the 25-year-old started his 7th consecutive league game as the visitors went in search of their fourth win of the campaign.

Both sides, however, failed to find the back of the net in a tense opening first 45 minutes before the hosts scored four minutes after the restart when forward Anthony Knockaert’s looping cross evaded everyone before flying past the goalkeeper for 1-0.

The Visitors however pushed for the equalizer and rightly got themselves level 10 minutes from time when the persistent Ajayi headed home from close range after Marcus Battinelli punched the ball to the part of the Nigerian who made no mistake to grab his first goal for the club.

The former Rotherham United utility player featured for the entire match duration, earning a game rating 7.3, making 3 clearances, winning 100% of his tackles and also completing an impressive 86% of his passes.

The result now sees the Hawthorns remain in 4th position with 13 points after earning 3 wins and four draws from their opening 7 games.
