Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze was the tonic Villarreal needed to overcome a stubborn Real Valladolid as he came off the bench to bag an assist in their 2-0 win at the Estadio de la Ceramica, reports.

The 20-year-old had to do with a place on the bench for the second consecutive week with the hosts gunning for their first home win of the campaign following their impressive outing last week away at Leganes.

But despite holding a chunk of the ball possession, the host failed to break down the visitors with both sides going into the break goalless.

The Eagles winger then came off the bench in the 66th minute for Moi Gomez and Villarreal took the lead ten minutes later from the spot courtesy of a cool finish from Santi Carzola.

Chukwueze then set up Javier Ontiveros with a perfect cross on the 89th minute with the Spanish midfielder heading home from close range to seal all three points for the host.

Despite being on the pitch for just 24 minutes, Chukwueze still managed a good rating of 7.2, completing 82% of his passes, winning 5 duels and also completing 2 of his dribbles.
