Spanish LaLiga strugglers Leganes have been boosted by the return of star centre-back, Kenneth Omeruo ahead of their crucial clash away at Champions League high flyers Valencia on Sunday, AOIFootball.com reports.
The 25-year-old missed his side’s 3-0 thumping by Villarreal last weekend after making a short trip to sort out his papers but has now said he is in contention for a third league start of the season away at the Mestella.
The news of the player’s availability will come as a massive boost for head coach Mauricio Pellegrino who desperately needs a win to save his job after failing to register a single point from their opening league games.
Omeruo’s paper work issues will also be good news for the Super Eagles with the player almost certain to feature in Nigeria’s friendly against Brazil next month after missing the last one against Ukraine due to visa issues.
Leganes will however have their hands full against a rejuvenated Valencia who are still basking in the euphoria of their Champions League 1-0 win away at Chelsea on opening day.
With no win and point in their opening league games, the Cucumber Boys will need to be psychologically fit for the clash having also failed to win against Valencia in all of their previous eight meetings in all competitions.
