Nigerian international Stephen Odey scored his first competitive goal for new club KRC Genk as they trashed amateur side SK Ronse 3-0 to advance to the round of 16 of the Beker van Belgie, reports.

The Dream Team VII attacker started his first competitive game for the visitors as he partnered fellow Nigerian Paul Onuachu upfront.

But the amateur side held their ground in the first 45 minutes as both teams went into the break goalless before Odey broke their resolve two minutes before the hour mark to put Genk 1-0.

Bryan Heynen the made it 2-0 on 71 minutes with a well-taken penalty before Paul Dankjewel wrapped up the victory with a fine finish seven-minute from time.

Odey will now hope his goal-scoring performance will be good enough for a league starting berth after falling down the pecking order behind the duo of Mbwana Samatta and Paul Onuachu.
