Former Plateau United FC of Jos striker, Emmanuel Odafe had to settle for National Bank of Egypt Sports Club FC in the Egyptian second-tier league, after talks broke down with El Geish and Petrojet FC, reports.
The prolific goal poacher, who has been in Egypt for over a month now, told exclusively that the deals with the top-flight clubs didn’t pull through because the parties involved could not agree on terms, hence his decision to settle for a second-tier league club, and has also set his sights on gaining promotion with NBE Sports Club.
“I’ve set a target for myself to ensure that we gain promotion to the premier league, said Odafe.
“My deal with El Geish FC could not be finalized, because both parties didn’t agree on terms, he added.
“Petrojet FC was meant to be an option for us, but their interest in me came in very late, hence we had to open talks and seal a deal with NBE Sports club, Odafe concluded.
The Egyptian second-tier league is set to kick off around the first week of October, and teams like Nogoom FC will be jostling for one of the slots to get back into the country’s elite league.
