The Nigeria Football Federation have expressed confidence in the ability of the Manu Garba-led Golden Eaglets to fly the country high when the FIFA U-17 World Cup kicks off next month in Brazil, reports.


This much was disclosed to the press by the General Secretary of the NFF Dr. Mohammed Sanusi who stated that the Federation will continue to do everything to ensure the team gets the best of preparation.


“We go into every competition hoping to always win and we shall do everything ethical to make sure we always win, but you know man plans but God has other plans. So we will do our best and leave everything to God,” Sanusi stated.


He further went on to give insights on the team’s current performance at the UEFA/CAF tournament in Turkey, stating that the competition will prepare the coaches on what to expect from the players.


“The coach himself has made it clear that this tournament will give him insights into the kind of players he will take to the World Cup.


“I believe he has seen those that he will take and those that he will drop and areas where he also needs to improve. But I believe the tournament now is a good one for the team.


“As a Federation, we have plenty confidence that the team will make Nigeria proud at the World Cup,” Sanusi concluded.


The five times world champions are draw in Group B alongside Hungary, Ecuador and Australia and will begin their quest for a sixth crown against Hungary on the 26th of October.


The Manu Graba led boys are currently in Turkey taking part in pre-world cup game where they have defeated Turkey and Guatemala 2-0 and 5-1 respectively.
