Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Agu has disclosed that he is not too really concerned about being overlooked for next month’s high profile friendly against five-time world champions Brazil in Singapore, AOIFootball.com reports.
Agu, who has had a electrifying start to life at new club Vitoria Guimaraes, told AOIFootball.com exclusively that he will however continue to work hard and ensure he gets back into the team.
“Like I always say, I believe it’s always every footballer’s dream to play for their various national teams. For African players plying their trade in Europe, playing for your national team gives you extra value and your team respects you even the more.
“For me I just want to keep playing good; we have a manager who follows up Nigerian players abroad, so for that sake, I believe I can make a comeback to the national team,” Agu said.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a perfect start to life at the Estadio D. Afonso Henriques, winning two and drawing two games in which he has featured.
