Match Day 2 of the UEFA Champions League will continue around different venues across Europe with the trio of Victor Osimhen, Paul Onuachu and Peter Olayinka hoping to replicate the heroics of teammate Emmanuel Dennis who made the headlines on Tuesday, AOIFootball.con reports.
At the Stade Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Lille, striker Victor Osimhen will be hoping to get his Champions League goal campaign off to a start when his Lille side host Chelsea who are also desperate to earn a win following their opening day loss to Valencia.
The Super Eagles forward will go head to head with fellow Nigerian Fikayo Tomori who is expected to lead the Blues defence with forward Tammy Abraham also expected to play a part as his International future remains up for grab.
Similarly, at the Luminus Arena in Genk, Super Eagles duo of Paul Onuachu and Stephen Odey will be hoping to put behind their embarrassing 6-2 loss on match day one when they host Italian high flyers Napoli.
Onuachu who made his debut in the 6-2 loss in Salzburg will hope to displace Mbwana Samatta for a starter’s berth with Odey hoping to make the matchday squad after he was not in the 18 man party to Salzburg on opening day.
Finally, new Super Eagles invitee Peter Olayinka will hope to make it two in two for Czech side Slavia Praha when they host Germany’s Borussia Dortmund in one of the early kickoffs at the Eden Arena in Prague.
The 23-year-old, who became the second Nigerian to score on his Champions League debut when he netted in his side’s 1-1 draw away at Inter Millan, will now hope to justify his Eagles inclusion when they face Dortmund who are desperate for their first win of the campaign.
