Super Eagles forward, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure has been nominated for the UEFA Champions League best player of the week for matchday 2 following his brace heroics against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, reports.

The one capped Eagle opened scoring for Brugge on 19 minutes before robbing Modric off the ball in the midfield to make it 2-0 and then going on to taunt the Madrid fans with a Cristiano Ronaldo kind of celebration.

He will, however, have his hands full for the best player prize as Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry stands favourite for the honours after scoring an incredible 4 goals in his side’s 7-2 thrashing of Tottenham.

Also on the list is Luis Suarez whose brace propelled FC Barcelona to a comeback win over Inter Milan at Camp Nou with Morocco’s Hakraf Hakimi the final shortlist after he also scored twice to help Borussia Dortmund to a 2-0 win away at Slavia Praha.

The 21-year-old has scored four goals in all competitions this term and will be eying his first-ever start for Nigeria in next month’s international friendly against Brazil in Singapore.
