Super Eagles forward, Henry Onyekuru has confirmed he will sit out the clash against Montpellier later Saturday after he sustained an hamstring injury in training, AOIFootball.com reports.
The former Everton loanee has found game time hard to come by and will now miss the visit to the Stade de la Masson with Monaco hoping to pick up just their 3rd win of the campaign.
“I have a little bit of hamstring from training this week and the coaches have evaluated it and have advised me to sit out the game to avoid further damages,” Onyekuru revealed.
He, however, stated that he hopes to be back after the international break as he will continue to work hard and ensure he returns to the starting XI for the principality club.
Monaco have recovered from an embarrassing start to the league which saw them fail to win any of their opening six games as they are now unbeaten in their last two games and will fancy their chances against 10th placed Montpellier.
