Nigerian international Simy Nwankwo scored twice for promotion chasers Crotone in their 3-1 win over Virtus Entella, reports.

The 27-year-old started his 6th league game of the season with the host targeting their 4th win of the campaign.

It took the lanky forward just 27 minutes to break the deadlock when he calmly put the ball beyond the goalkeeper for 1-0 before he repeated the same feat 10 minutes later to make it 2-0.

Giovanni Crociata then made it 3-0 on 63 minutes before the visitors got a late consolation goal 11 minutes from time with Crotone moving up to second on the log table.

The Nigerian lasted for 71 minutes before he was replaced and was rightly named the man of the match after earning a game rating of 8.4, completing 90% of his passes and also making 1 key pass.

Simy has now been directly involved in 5 goals this term (four goals and one assist) from seven games as Crotone are seriously pushing for a return to the Serie A.
