Nigerian international Simy Nwankwo continued his impressive form in the Italian Serie B as he scored twice to help Crotone to a 3-2 win over Venezia on match day 9 of the league, reports.

The 2018 World Cup star led the line for the hosts but it was the visitors who drew first blood on the 9th minute when Mattia Aramu held on to convert from a Alessandro Capella pass for 1-0.

The Nigerian forward then drew his side level on the 35th minute as he netted his fifth goal of the campaign after being set up by Andrea Barberis.

Simy then turned the tie in favour of Crotone ten minutes into the second half when he grabbed his brace for 2-1 before the visitors equalized after the hour mark to make it 2-2.

Crotone will eventually go on to seal all three points when defender Vladimir Golemic headed home an Andrea Barberis cross to take his side to the summit of the league table.

Simy was rightfully awarded the man of the match, earning a game rating of 8.4, completing 94% of his passes and scoring twice from his two shots on target.
