The camp of the Dream Team VII has been boosted by the arrival of US-based Orji Okwonkwo as Olympic Eagles continue preparations for next month’s AFCON U-23 championships in Egypt, can authoritatively confirm.

The 21-year-old Montreal Impact attacker flew into the team’s Abuja camp at the weekend and immediately settled in with the rest of the squad as they bid to defend the title they won in Senegal four years ago.

Okwonkwo comes with plenty of attacking threat after a stellar loan spell in the MLS where he scored 8 goals and 2 assists in 28 matches as well as the Montreal Impact player of the season.

Similarly, Russia-based Olabiran Blessing Muyiwa is being expected in the country after he was an unused sub in Tambov’s 3-0 win over UFA on Saturday.

The 21-year-old was a key part of the Dream Team VII all through the qualifiers and will now hope to make an impact in Egypt as they bid to pick one of the two automatic tickets to represent the continent.
