Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has quashed reports concerning an injury he suffered at the weekend, saying he would be available for Super Eagles’ AFCON qualifiers, reports.

The 20-year-old was replaced 58 minutes into his side’s 2-0 win over Bordeaux at the weekend but has now revealed the injury won’t keep him out for too long.

Lille Coach, Cristophe Galtier had initially confirmed that the Nigerian suffered a slight pain and had to be taken off with further tests now revealing the player will be out for just a couple of games.

A close source to the striker however told authoritatively that the player is fine and will undergo further tests on Friday to determine the actual extent of the injury.

“Yes, he had a slight pain and had to be taken out but I spoke with him and he confirmed that he will be back soonest and should also be available for Nigeria’s qualifiers next month,” the source disclosed.

The injury will almost certainly see Osimhen miss his side’s crunch clash against Olympique Marseille and their Champions League clash at Valencia but could however be in contention for next month’s league clash at home to Metz.
