Nigerian international Orji Okonkwo has backed the Golden Eaglets to continue their impressive start at the U-17 World Cup ahead of their second group game on Tuesday night against Ecuador, reports.

The on-loan Impact Montreal winger, who spoke to in Abuja, stated that he was impressed with the team’s outing against Hungary last Saturday and also believes they have what it takes to go all the way in the competition.

“We just have to wish them good luck. I watched the first game they played against Hungary. Yes they were a little bit shaky at the back but overall, they overcame it and gave a good account of themselves.

“I believe they have what it takes to bring home the trophy but they just have to work on their few lapses and after two three games they will be fully settled in the competition,” Okonkwo said.

The Manu Garba-led boys will have their hands full when they tackle Ecuador in their second group game at the Estadio Olimpico Pedro Ludovico in Goiania and would be guaranteed of the next round should they overcome their South American opponents.
