Super Eagles winger, Samuel Kalu was at his brilliant best for French side Bordeaux as he set up Josh Maja in their 2-0 cup win over Dijon to reach the round of 16, reports.

After being drawn bye in the previous round, both Kalu and Maja were given the nod to lead the attack with the hosts hoping to bounce back from last weekend’s embarrassing 3-0 loss to Lille.

It however took them just 8 minutes to take the lead when the impressive Kalu showed plenty of trickery down the flanks before sending a delightful cross into the box and Josh Maja rose highest to head home for 1-0.

The hosts then made sure their passage to the next round was fully secured when substitute Nicolas de Preville scored with almost the last kick of the match to seal a comfortable 2-0 win and see Bordeaux match into the next round.

Both Kalu and Maja will now turn their attention to Saturday’s home league clash against FC Nantes as they bid to improve their 8th position standing on the log table.
