Nigerian international, Simy Nwankwo continued his impressive form infront of goal in the Italian Serie B as he scored his 7th league goal of the campaign in Crotone’s 2-1 away loss at Chievo Verona, AOIFootball.com reports.
Fresh from bagging a brace last weekend, the 27-year-old attacker started his 9th league game of the season for the visitors with the hosts naming former Eagles midfielder Joel Obi among the substitutes.
After a cagey opening first 20 minutes, the visitors struck the first blow when Simy was brought down in the box with the Nigerian making no mistake to fire home to make it 1-0 on 25 minutes.
Their chances of victory was however made difficult when midfielder Niccolo Zanellato was sent off just before the hour mark after receiving two yellow cards in the space of 3 minutes.
The red card did go on to make a huge impact on the game as the hosts scored twice in the 71st and 81st minutes to overturn the result and seal all three points with Crotone suffering just their second defeat of the season.
