Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Agu continued his fine form for Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes after he helped them to an impressive 1-1 draw away at Moreirense, reports.

Having made the team of the week for match day 9, the Eagles returnee took his place in the centre of the midfield as he earned his 5th start with the visitors hoping to leapfrog Sporting CP and move into the top 4.

Both teams however failed to find the back of the net in a drab first 45 minutes before the visitors broke the deadlock four minutes after the restart as defender Edmond Tapsoba converted from 12 yards to make it 1-0.

With a goal down and still very much in the contest, the host equalized against the run of play when Rafik Halliiche found Steven Vitoria who made no mistake as he tucked home for 1-1 as both side shared the spoils of the point.

Agu, who was on for the entire match duration finished with a game rating of 7.4, completing 82% of his passes, winning 12 duels, making 5 key tackles and also made 1 key interception.

Aquarius also thanked Eagles gaffer Gernot Rohr for handing him yet another opportunity with the National team after making a return to the squad ahead of next week’s qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.

The 26-year-old last played for Nigeria in November of 2018 but now wants to help the team begin the AFCON qualifiers on a good note if given the opportunity against the Squirrels.
