Nigerian international, Simy Nwankwo scored one and set up another to help promotion chasers Crotone to an impressive 3-1 win over Ascoli on matchday 12 of the Serie B, reports.

Having been named Serie B Player of the Month for October, the 27-year-old led the line for the hosts as they hoped to return to winning ways with Simy gunning for his 8th league strike of the campaign.

It however took just six minutes for Crotone to put their noses in front when the impressive Simy set up midfielder Giovanni Crociata with the Italian making no mistake to slot home for 1-0.

Both players then combined again after the hour mark to double Crotone’s lead but this time it was Simy who finished off the move after he was played through by Crociata with the Nigerian grabbing his 8th league goal of the campaign.

Lucas Marrone then put through his own goal just before halftime to give Ascoli some form of hope but Crotone will go on to seal an impressive win when Nahuel Valentini also put through his own goal to make it 3-1.

Simy was on for the entire match duration and had a game rating of 8.1, completing 84% of his passes as the result moves Crotone back to second on the log with 21 points from 12 games played so far.
