Super Eagles winger Moses Simon is poised to end 2019 in the French Ligue 1 on a high, following an impressive end to the international calendar with Nigeria Athena weekend, reports.

The FC Nantes winger came off the bench in Nigeria’s 2-1 win over the Benin Republic last Wednesday but started on Sunday when the Eagles defeated Lesotho 4-2 to record a perfect start to the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.

Simon, who was named Nantes’ Player for the month of October, however, told exclusively that he now hopes to replicate the same form beginning with this weekend’s clash away at Stade Brestois 29.

“It’s been a fantastic week for me and the national team. It wasn’t an easy outing but we are happy for the wins which puts us in a great position to qualify for the next AFCON.

“Now it’s time to focus on the rest of the year with Nantes. I have had an amazing start here and winning the player of the month for October can only spur me on to do more for the team,” Simon said.

The 24-year-old has been a revelation since his loan move from Levante to France, scoring 5 goals and 2 assists in all competitions to help Nantes stay 9th on the log with 19 points after 13 games.
