Super Eagles Head Coach, Gernot Rohr has praised his wards for their fine display of the beautiful game, saying he is not bothered that they came from behind to win against Benin Republic and Lesotho, reports.
Reacting to questions by during Sunday night’s post-match conference in Maseru, the 63-year-old tactician noted that winning in football is always the most important.
“Sometimes you score the first goal in a match and some matches you concede first. We scored the first goal against Ukraine and Brazil but we did not win so maybe I prefer to concede the first goal and win games like against Benin and Lesotho.

“But it also shows that my team has a good spirit, they never give up, they don’t lose their calm but play without panic. We have a very young team and what I like is their enthusiasm to play football and even if they concede a goal they don’t slip,” Rohr concluded.

A brace from Victor Osimhen, who scored his first two goals from open play for Nigeria, and a pair each from Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze, ensured Nigeria continued their 100% start to the 2021 AFCON qualifiers with 2 wins from 2 games.
