Nigerian international, Paul Onuachu was the saviour for defending champions KRC Genk as they were forced to a 2-2 draw away at Royal Excel Mouscron, reports.

The Eagles forward was named among the substitutes alongside Stephen Odey with the visitors hoping to climb above their hosts with a win.

But it was the hosts that took the lead in the opening 120 seconds through Stipe Perica before Sebastien Dewaest equalized for Genk on 20 minutes with Onuachu introduced just before half time as both teams went into the break level.

The 25-year-old then benefited from a defensive lapse to put his side ahead on 55 minutes to make it 2-1 before the host equalized 10 minutes later to make it 2-2.

Onuachu then taught he had scored the winning goal 10 minutes from time but saw his effort correctly ruled out for offside as both teams settled for a share of the points.

The forward has now scored 5 goals in 10 appearances for the club in the league and will now hope to have done enough to merit a start ahead of their penultimate Champions League group clash at home to RB Salzburg on Wednesday.
