Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi is glad to help former U-17 striker, Sani Emmanuel’s rehabilitation from injury and rediscover his footballing career, AOIFootball.com reports.
The Trabzonspor of Turkey midfielder, who responded to the social media plea of his former teammate, paid the N1.4 million surgery fee for the 26-year-old who has been struggling with a career-threatening injury.
Onazi on his part, however, hopes the former junior international recovers fully from the surgery afterward, stating that the player remains one of the best forwards he has played with in the colours of Nigeria.

Both players began their journey at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Nigeria a decade ago, with Emmanuel emerging the joint highest goal scorer of the competition.
Emmanuel’s success at the U-17 World Cup saw him have trials at English clubs Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur but eventually went to Italy in 2011.
Emmanuel’s injury and a nomadic career path took him from the high of Italy to play in the Swedish lower tier in 2015, with spells in Switzerland and Israel.
