Super Eagles striker, Josh Maja was in blistering form on Wednesday evening as he scored thrice and provided one assist to lift Bordeaux to a comprehensive 6-0 bashing of visitors Nimes Olympique, reports.

The one time capped Eagle was rewarded for his goal-scoring exploit over the weekend as he was handed just his 3rd league start of the season with the host gunning for their 7th league win of the campaign.

The 24-year-old needed just 24 minutes to register his intent in the clash when he beat the offside trap to fire past the goalkeeper after he was set up by Youssouf Sabaly for 1-0.

The former Sunderland forward soon doubled his lead 8 minutes from half time as he once again outsmart the Nimes defense line to fire home his 4th goal of the campaign to give his side a comfortable half time lead.

Maja then completed his hat-trick on 53 minutes when he superbly held up play before unleashing a ferocious strike which beat the goalkeeper to all but settle the host who moved straight into the Champions League spot.

The Nigerian then set up Nicolas de Preville for 4-0 five minutes later before he was withdrawn on 75 minutes with fellow countryman Samuel Kalu also taking to the earlier for goal scorer Preville.

The host will then go ahead to score two more goals courtesy of midfielder Otavio who benefited from a morale damping midfield to score twice in the 76th and 87th minute to hand his side their biggest league win of the season.

Maja has rightfully rewarded the man of the match for his prolific performance as he earned a perfect rating of 9.9, as he scored from all 3 of his shots attempted in the clash.
