Nigeria Professional Football League veteran and Enyimba Int’l FC utility midfielder, Cyril Olisema has expressed optimism over his side’s chances of running over Football Club de San Pedro, in a Match Day 2 group stage encounter of the ongoing CAF Confederations Cup, AOIFootball.com reports.
The former Akwa United FC midfield maestro, who spoke exclusively to AOIFootball.com shortly after the team’s last training session on Saturday, was full of confidence that his side would decimate the Ivorian club, adding that they are fully charged to go for all three points and get their CAF Confederations Cup competition underway.
“We’re fully ready for the Ivorian opposition, and I believe we’ll have the upper hand at the end of the day,” said the former Almasry Club midfield player.
“We’re hopeful of getting our first win of the competition come Sunday, and that is all we need for now,” he added.
The People’s Elephant lost their first group stage match 2-0 to Hussania US Agadir in Morocco, but the enterprising midfielder is strongly of the view that their quest of qualifying from the group is not in any way threatened, insisting that all they need is to get back to winning ways.
“Losing on the road to US Agadir can’t stop us from making it through the group stages; it’s only a setback and we can remedy it.
“All we need is to get a convincing win, and score as many goals to wipe off our goals deficit at the end of the day,” Olisema concluded.
