Super Eagles forward, Paul Onuachu returned to scoring form for struggling Genk as they brushed aside fellow strugglers Waasland Beveren 4-1 to record just their second victory in 10 outings, reports.

Despite firing blanks in their midweek Champions League 4-0 loss to Napoli, the 25-year-old retained his place in the starting XI with compatriot Stephen Odey made to watch from the bench as he continues to hope for his second league start.

The hosts however needed just 10 minutes to get into gear when Theo Bongonda put them ahead with a sublime finish before he then turned provider 16 minutes later for Onuachu who fired home his side’s second of the game and his 6th of the campaign.

Jhon Luchmi then made it 3-0 five minutes after the half-hour mark as the hosts went into the break with a comfortable 3-0 lead, their biggest since the beginning of the 2019/2020 league season.

Sander Berge then made it 4-0 after the hour mark before the visitors pulled one back two minutes from time with Genk holding on for a 4-1 win.

With no chance of retaining the league title, they won last year, the win moves them to 7th on the log with 28 points but they stay 14 points behind runaway leaders Club Brugge who have 42 points having played two games less.
