Nigerian international, Emmanuel Dennis ended an eight-gam goalless run as he scored for runaway leaders Club Brugge as they defeated KV Mechelen 3-0 to stretch their lead at the top of the table, reports.

Having helped set up the only goal in his side’s Champions League loss to Real Madrid last week,  the 22-year-old led the line for the hosts alongside South Africa’s Pacy Tau with David Okereke dropping to the bench for the duo.

The hosts were however made to wait till the 28th minute to take the lead when Percy Tau broke through before slotting past the goalkeeper for 1-0.

The forward then set up Dennis two minutes later and the Nigerian produced a cheeky back-heel to double their lead but however, needed the intervention of the Video Assistant Referee to confirm the goal.

Mats Rits then added the icing on the cake ten minutes from time as he reacted quickest to tuck home for 3-0 thus Brugge extended their lead on the summit of the table to 45 points from 18 games.
