Osimhen has had a fantastic start this season for Lille

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen scored his first goal for Lille in the Coupe de la Ligue as they overcame Monaco 3-0 at the Stade Louis 11 to reach the quarterfinals of the competition, reports.

Having been drawn bye in the previous round, the 20-year-old led the line for the visitors with both sides naming a full-strength squad in what was their first of two meetings in the space of five days.

Osimhen, however, needed just 19 minutes to stun the home fans when he superbly lashed on to a Jonathan Ikone pass before unleashing a powerful shot to put Lille 1-0 up.

The player’s night was however cut shot four minutes later when he collapsed after feeling dizzy and was immediately taken to the hospital as was replaced by strike partner Loic Remy.

The French forward made justice by scoring twice, the first just before half time before completing his brace four minutes from time to knock out Monaco and send his side to the quarterfinals of the competition.

Meanwhile, Lille Coach Christophe Galtier revealed that Osimhen was fine and was taken to the hospital for precautionary purposes.

The Nigerian has been in sensational form since arriving at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, netting 12 goals in all competitions and helping the club push for a Champions League spot next season.
