Former Arsenal striker, Chuba Akpom was the star man for defending league champions, PAOK as he scored one and assisted another to stretch their unbeaten league run to 15 games following their 2-0 win away at Panionios, reports.

The former England youth international, who has made public his desire to play for Nigeria at the senior international level, led the line for just the 4th time this season with the visitors hoping to close the gap on leaders Olympiacos.

Despite dominating the opening exchanges, the visitors failed to capitalize on their strength as both teams went into the break goalless after a drab first 45 minutes.

Akpom, however, turned the game in his side’s favour three minutes after the restart when he set up Sverrir Ingi Ingason to make it 1-0 before he then made sure the points were safe two minutes after the hour mark as he converted from close range to hand PAOK all 3 points.

The win now sees PAOK level on points with Olympiacos at the summit of the table with Akpom now taking his goal tally for the season to 4 from 14 games.
