Super Eagles midfielder, Joe Aribo yet again produced another man of the match performance to inspire second place Glasgow Rangers to a hard-fought 1-0 win at home to Kilmarnock to keep them within touching distance of leaders Celtic, reports.

Having scored one and assisted another in their last outing against Hibernian, the 23-year-old started his 16th league game of the season with the host targeting their 15th win of the campaign.

The Nigerian led the line alongside Jermain Defoe and Ryan Kent but the host failed to make the most of their early dominance as they went into the break goalless.

Clearly not happy with his team’s performance, Head Coach Steven Gerrard brought on top scorer Alfredo Morelos with Greg Stewart also replacing Scott Arfield in the second half.

His introduction will, however, go on to be the turning point as the Colombian went on to grab the game’s all-important goal when he latched on to a pass from Joe Aribo to seal all 3 points.

The win now puts Rangers in the right frame of mind ahead of Sunday’s derby against Celtic as they hope to avenge this month’s league cup loss.
