Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo has completed his loan switch to Spanish LaLiga side Getafe following his move from Championship outfit Stoke City, reports

The 24-year-old arrived in Madrid on Wednesday afternoon and immediately went in for his medicals before officially joining the club on a six-month loan deal which runs till the end of the current campaign.

“OFFICIAL: Nigerian international Oghenekaro Etebo joins the ranks of Getafe. Welcome,” the club posted to announce his arrival.

Similarly, can also report that the deal to bring the Nigerian from the BET365 Stadium could also see him remain with the Azulones beyond the summer with a fee of around €20 million on the cards for his permanent transfer.

The move will come as a welcome development to the National team with the player playing an important role for Nigeria, especially with the AFCON and World Cup qualifiers taking place this year.

If fully fit, the midfielder could make his debut in Getafe’s away Copa del Ray tie at CF Badalona on Saturday or wait till next week’s crunch derby clash at Leganes with both Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem also expected to feature for the hosts.
