Plateau United attacking midfielder, Uche Onwuasoanya has expressed confidence in his team’s chances of staking a claim to the Nigeria Professional Football League title, AOIFootball.com reports.
In an exclusive chat with AOIFootball.com, the former Yarma Light of Gombe United and Kwara United FC playmaker maintained that the Tin City side is absolutely focused on the task ahead, which is the league title, adding that the loss away to Katsina United is only a temporary setback.
“We still remain focused in our bid to clinch the NPFL title this season, notwithstanding the loss at Katsina United,” said the midfield player, who scored the first goal in the 4-0 demolishing of Enyimba Int’l on Match Day 12.
“Our resolve is not to lose focus until we actualize our dream, and we’re working towards that,” he added.
Despite the 1-0 defeat on the road to the ‘Chanji Boys’, the 2017 NPFL Champions still remain at the summit of the table on goals difference, and the former Nigerian Flying Eagles’ player insists only true challengers can possess such character, saying they will keep fighting to maintain their position at the top.
“We’re still at the top of the table on goals difference, even after the loss to Katsina United. That is the character of true title contenders.
“We will keep fighting just to maintain our position at the top until we’re crowned champions,” Onwuasoanya concluded.
