Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen returned to scoring ways in the French Ligue on Saturday night when he scored the winner for European chasers Lille in their 2-1 win away at Strasbourg, reports.


Without a win in their last 3 games which included crashing out of both the League Cup and the French Cup, Osimhen and his teammates were desperate to return to winning ways as they seek to return to winning ways.


Their efforts were however made tasking when Adrien Thomasson made the most of a defensive howler from Renato Sanches to put Strasbourg 1-0.


The visitors then switched to the bench in the second half with the introduction of Johnathan Ikone with the midfielder providing to be useful as he set up Brazilian Gabriel to equalize for Lille on 65 minutes.


Lille were then handed a golden opportunity to take the lead 10 minutes from time when Luiz Arujo strike hit the hands of Lionel Carole with Osimhen stepping up to convert the resulting penalty to hand his side all 3 points.


The strike now takes Osimhen to 11 league goals for the season making him joint 5th on the scorers chat alongside Habib Diallo with the Nigerian now three goals behind leaders Mbappe and Wissam Ben Yedder
