Nigerian international Anthony Nwakaeme sent strong signs to Eagles’ Coach Gernot Rohr ahead of next month’s doubleheader against Sierra Leone when he scored for the 4th time in three games to help Trabzonspor to a 2-0 win away at Genclerbirligi, reports.

Having been dropped to the bench for their midweek cup win over BB Erzurumspor, inspirational midfielder John Obi Mikel returned to the starting XI as he continued in his lone man defensive midfield role with the visitors going in search of their 12th win of the campaign.

The first half, however, failed to produce any goals with Trabzonspor needing to wait till the 75th minute for the breakthrough when Jose Sosa converted from 12 yards for 1-0.

Nwakaeme then doubled his side lead 7 minute from time when he fired home from inside the box to net his 8th league goal of the campaign with Trabzonspor moving up to 1st in the log as they stay level on points with Sivasspor.

He, however, scooped the man of the match award with a rating of 8.2, with Mikel earning a rating of 7.0 as he completed 85% of his passes, winning 5 duels, making 2 tackles and clearances and also completing 100% of his take-ons.
