Nigerian international, Paul Onuachu scored his first league goal of the new decade to help defending champions KRC Genk to a hard-fought 1-1 draw away at Royal Antwerp FC to help keep their hopes of making the championship playoffs alive, AOIFootball.com reports.
The 25-year-old started his 14th league game of the campaign has now become the club’s first-choice center forward following the departure of Mbwana Samatta with fellow Nigerian Stephen Odey named among the substitutes.
Onuachu, however, put the visitors ahead on 12 minute when he combined with Theo Bongonda to give his side a 1-0 lead, thus scoring his 8th league goal of the campaign.
Genk was then denied a chance to take the lead going into the break when Joakim Maehle put through his own goal before the break with both teams going on to share the points after failing to also find a winner in the second half.
The point just about keeps Genk on 6th position with 38 points, four points above Zulte who are seventh with just 5 games left in the regular season
