Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ quest to field a strong side in back to back AFCON 2021 qualifiers against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, received a major boost on Monday as the team’s defensive midfield anchor Wilfred Ndidi posted a video indicating his return from injury, reports.

The Leicester City star underwent surgery on his meniscus last month, returning to action just 13 days later, but after two appearances against West Ham and Aston Villa, he experienced soreness in his knee and, an hour before kick-off, was withdrawn from the side that drew 2-2 to Chelsea a fortnight ago.

But on Monday, the Super Eagles star caused cheers amongst fans as he uploaded a video of himself doing fitness and light workout.

This will come as a boost for Coach Gernot Rohr who needs him for the all-important AFCON qualifiers next month against Sierra Leone.
