Former Olympic Eagles striker, Aminu Umar produced a man of the match performance for Caykur Rizespor as they lost ground on a top-half finish following their 2-1 loss at home to Istanbul Basaksehir which had Dream Team captain Azubuike Okechukwu on the bench, reports.

The 24-year-old started his 14th league clash of the season with the hosts hoping to move 7 points clear of the relegation zone.

But with the first half almost certain to end goalless, the visitors broke the deadlock two minutes into the break when Edin Visca fired home from 12 yards to give Basaksehir a 1-0 half time lead.

The former Wikki Tourists forward however equalized against the run of play when he made the most of a defensive mix-up to round up the goalkeeper for 1-1 before late substitute Martin Skrtel won the game for the visitors on the dot of 90 minutes to condemn the hosts to their 12th loss of the campaign.

Umar was however adjudged the best player on the pitch, earning a rating of 8.0, completing all 7 of his take-ons, winning a game-high 11 duels and also making 2 key passes.
