News from Galatasaray concerning Nigerian international Henry Onyekuru seems very pleasant since his return to the club he won his first set of trophies, the league title, and the Turkish Cup.
AOIFootball.com’s findings indicate that the former Everton signing, who joined the Turkish champions on loan after a disastrous first season at French side, AS Monaco, immediately rediscovered his form.
Henry as he is fondly called made immediate impact scoring in his second start for Fatih Terim’s side and against the club’s biggest rivals, Fenerbahce away from home.
He was also instrumental in the club’s 3-0 win against Genclerbirligi last weekend, won the man of the match award against Fenerbahce, recorded 82 percent pass accuracy, 1 goal, 1 assist, and high rating of 7.5 all in just 303 minutes of football.
Speaking after the game against Fenerbahce, Coach Fatih Terim restated the former Anderlecht of Belgium wing wizard’s importance to the team, insisting Onyekuru returned the way he left.
“Each match has a different story. It is not the same as playing Fenerbahce here with any match you play at your stadium.
“Sometimes, what you think in theory may not be in practice. Sometimes we don’t think so; but we tried to get out of the blocks. We did this and we took many positions with Onyekuru. He has returned to us the same way he left with good impression,” he said.
Onyekuru enjoys the rave already in Turkey, with fans signing his name game after game and it was even reported last week that an unidentified fan of Galatasaray tattooed his name after the team’s historic 1-3 win over eternal rivals Fenerbahce.
